Summer Programs through the Warren Recreation Department

tment begins its FREE Summer Program on Tuesday, June 22nd for Warren children ages 6 to 14 who have completed at least kindergarten. Registration will take place on Wednesday, June 16, at the Warren Community Center (Mary V Quirk School) from 5 to 7 p.m.

ld before they can start on June 22nd. No child will be allowed to participate without being registered and having a photo ID takenParents who register their child on or after June 22nd will have to wait two days before they will be allowed to stay and participate in order to prepare their ID.

he summer park program is a
t Hugh Cole Park and at Burr's Hill Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The program has changed, with children placed into three age groups 6-8, 9-11 and 12-14. Children will have to stay in their age group and participate in the scheduled events the supervisors plan. Two supervisors will be in charge of the children in each group. Children must report to their supervisor with their photo ID when they arrive. Children who do not have their ID will not be allowed to stay. Parents must check in with their child's supervisor when picking up their child. Parents picking up their child must show a pickup card that was issued by the Recreation Department.

Extended summer day program


Parents who need to drop their child off early, or pick them up later, can take advantage of the extended program held at the Warren Community Center (Mary V Quirk School). Parents can drop off their child anytime between 7 and 9 a.m. or pick them up anytime between 3 and 6 p.m. for a fee. Recreation workers will walk the children down to Burr's Hill at 9 a.m. to participate in the free park program.

$15 per day prepaid (morning, $6; afternoon, $9) or $20 per day if not paid in advance (morning, $8; afternoon, $12).   There must be prior notice for individual days.

Weekly rate: $65 per week prepaid or $100 per week if not prepaid. Prepay must be made on Fri-

epartment offers a 20% discount once. So, submit additional information or a photograph as soon as possible. We need digital photos e-mailed or sent on a disc as a high-resolution jpg or tif. Or, we discount per additional child per family.

Gymnastics program

stration for the gymnastic
s program is on Wednesday, June 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the community center. Gymnastics will take place at Kickemuit Middle School on Tuesdays to Thursdays from 11 :30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. according to the child's age and ability. The gymnastics program is under the direction of Melissa Brule Gendreau and Kayla Dallaire.

ns will begin June 29 with all children reporting from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. to be evaluated. The last day of gymnastics is August 5th.

Swimming lessons

l offer free swim lessons at the Bayside Family YMCA in Barrington. Lessons are from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Classes are for children 5 to 12 years of age.
