Farms

Warren's eastern half is dominated by some of New England's most scenic farmland with rolling hills, stone walls and glimpses of the rivers that bound Warren.  Many of these farms provide plantings for nurseries, but dairy and produce are farmed as well.  The Town maintains a proud agricultural heritage and Warren residents have continually supported the preservation of working farmers in town through the purchase of development rights and other intiatives.

Where to find Warren's Local Farm Products

Farm Fresh RI.
This non-profit connects Rhode Island's farmers with restaurants and markets that offer local farm-grown products.  Their website provides an updated database of what is in season and where you can find it, as well as restaurants that specialize in locally grown food.  Visit www.farmfreshri.org/.

Local Farmer's Markets.  Rhode Island has a bounty of local farmer's markets, including Bristol, Barrington, Pawtucket and Providence.

Get Fresh/Buy Local

Rhode Island has become a leader in promoting locally grown crops. A new effort to encrouage locally grown products is funded through a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Specialty Crop Block Grant (SCBG) the RI Department of Environmental Management Division of Agriculture received in 2008.  Learn more about this effort and how you can promote Rhode Island's farmers at http://www.getfreshbuylocal.org/
