Transfer Station Rules and Regulations
A Resident Sticker costs $20.00 for each sticker. All vehicles entering the facility must stop on the scale until the clerk signals them to proceed. All vehicles then stop at the office for inspection of the load. Any persons dumping material in areas other than the designated areas will lose the right to use the facility.
Resident Sticker Policy
Residents with a sticker are allowed to dispose of 800 pounds of trash and/or yard waste annually, from July to July. "E Waste" and metal are free of charge. The first overage will be manual charged. Once the limit is exceeded, commercial rates will apply to all. No known commercial vehicle or dump trucks over 10,000 lbs GVW can obtain a resident sticker.
By law, this facility cannot accept any hazardous waste. This includes, but is not limited to, paints, thinners, pesticides, gasoline or any product with CAUTION or WARNING on its label.
Loads will be sorted for proper disposal, i.e. trash, construction debris, metals, brush, yard waste, tires, televisions, computers, etc.
All wood will be no longer than 4 feet in length.
Attendant will inspect each load prior to dumping.
A fee will be charged for refrigerators, air conditioners and dehumidifiers.
Household hazardous waste can be disposed of by calling for an appointment with Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation at (401) 942-1430 ext. 241.
Waste oil, old oil filters, used antifreeze, televisions, computer monitors and all electronic waste may also be disposed in the designated areas free of charge to residents.
Commercial trash = $185.00 per ton*
*Note: Only commercial trash generated within the Town of Warren will be accepted, and a permit is required. Please complete the permit application form found here and return the completed form to the Town Clerk’s Office.
Commercial brush and yard waste = $85.00 per ton
Tires = $5.00 each
Refrigerators, air conditioners, air humidifiers = $25.00 each. Curbside = $35.00 each
Mattresses and box springs = No Charge. Curbside = $20.00 each
