The Town of Warren’s public sewer system is regulated by Town Code Chapter 21- Utilities. Please consult these regulations for information pertaining to construction, repair and use of the sewer system. All repairs and new service connections must receive a permit from the Town. These permits are issued through the Building Department, located on the 2nd floor of Town Hall, 514 Main Street. Sewage is treated at the Warren wastewater treatment facility, located on Water Street, which was originally constructed in the 1940’s and underwent an upgrade in 1981. There have been several modest improvements to the facility since the 1981 upgrades, including changes to the sludge handling process and the disinfection system. The majority of the remaining mechanical and electrical equipment is over 30 years old and exceeding its design life. Due to an inability to meet flow and total nitrogen limits, an upgrade to the plant has been proposed. Approval for funding for the project will presented to the voters as a referendum item at the November 8, 2016 General Election.
